When it comes to support during and after pregnancy, doulas can be a huge help — but did you know there are different kinds?

What is a birth doula?
This amazing support person is there during labour and delivery, but they also provide antenatal support, allowing you to express your hopes and ask questions around birth.
Birth doulas offer information, guidance, and emotional comfort throughout pregnancy, helping you prepare for labour.
They provide comfort during birth, and advocate for your preferences to ensure a positive birth experience.

What is a postnatal doula?
After baby arrives, a postnatal doula steps in to help you transition into new parenthood. They provide support with feeding, newborn care, and even help around the house.
In addition, they offer emotional support, ensuring you feel heard and cared for during the postpartum period. They can also prepare nourishing food and provide practical help, so you can focus on healing and bonding with your baby.
Both doulas are essential in different ways, ensuring you feel empowered, cared for, and supported throughout your journey into parenthood. Not only do they work closely with the birthing person but they are there to support the whole family, easing that transition to new parenthood.
